Have-To's and Want-To's
When I'm away, I really feel like I should be home helping out. It's hard for me to decide what to do--I don't want to disappoint my parents or my friends! My grandma had a stroke, so she can't move around very well, and sometimes she gets a little confused and grouchy. I spent a lot of time with my grandma when I was a little girl, so I feel close to her, but it's hard to be patient sometimes. I could never be a nurse! If you've ever had to help watch a family member or baby-sit younger siblings, you know how I feel. But I do have band and orchestra practice to think about, and I like to spend time having fun with my friends. Sometimes it's hard to choose between so many "have to's" and "want to's" in my life...

I babysit all the time--and for free because it's friends of my parents. I know how you feel!

Babysitting rules--if you get paid! I made enough money to go on a trip with my friends last summer because I'm the babysitting go-to girl in my neighborhood. Of course, there are some gross parts, I agree, like cleaning up certain things....

My mom is a nurse in the emergency room, and she comes home with some really awful stories....but I still want to be like her. When I go to work with her I see how much she helps people and I can't wait to do the same.
