I write and read a lot; sometimes in school I even pretend to be listening to the teacher but secretly I'm working on my fantasy novel. I won't let Dad read it until it's all done, but he says if it's good he'll help me try and get it published. I also like to listen to music, especially from Broadway musicals. Yesterday I was chosen to sing a solo in church! Usually I'm just part of the choir, but I like that too. This spring I plan to try out for the school musical, but I'm not sure I'll make it since they usually give the good roles to junior and senior girls.

That's how it is at my school, too, and if you do get a part when you're too *young* the other girls are really jealous and treat you like crap. Hey, maybe that's why we don't brag about ourselves--we're worried about what other girls will say.... Why is it that guys enjoy telling each other how great they are!
