Kirsten
I couldn’t believe it when Kirsten called me up this afternoon, crying. She asked me to come over to her house right away, so I did. She had just done a home pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant! She was so upset and I think embarrassed because she knows Darren and I don’t do anything, but I told her I could never judge another person. She dreaded telling her parents and made me swear I wouldn’t say anything to anyone … but I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to do.

Kirsten really needs your support right now--I was a teen mom, so I know. I hope her boyfriend and her family will help her, too. Some of my friends' parents didn't want them to hang around with me any more when I got pregnant because they thought it was contagious or something. Now I'm 18 and have a 3 year old daughter, but I'll graduate with honors from high school. Kristen can do it, too!

Kristen ought to get tested for VD right away--if she got pregnant she wasn't using protection, and that makes her--and her baby--vulnerable. I did a paper on this for my honors class, so I know how important it is.
