Babysitting
My oldest brother is almost thirty, and has two kids of his own. I love to babysit my nieces, who are 2 and 4. Sometimes my sister-in-law asks if I can stay overnight with them, since they only live a few miles away, and my parents always say yes. My sister-in-law is an only child, so she tells me she pretends I’m her adopted “little sister.” She really makes me feel special.

I have an aunt like that! Just when I'm feeling down, she picks my spirits up again. Sometimes, you need somebody besides your friends--or because of them! Since my aunt is just a little older, she can remember what it was like to be my age, but she never passes judgment on me.

I used to think your friends had to be the same age as you, but now I don't. I have some cousins who are a year or two younger than me, and we are really good friends. They look up to me, too, so I feel like I'm helping them.
