Do you love the busy city and the great outdoors? Want the best of both worlds? Join us on this urban adventure through city streets, rivers and woods.
Picture It
Discover all the recreational opportunities of urban Atlanta from its sidewalks to its treetops with 23 of your fellow Girl Scouts. The adventure begins at Camp Timber Ridge, a camp oasis in the city, settling in and experiencing favorite camp activities, such as canoeing and hiking.
The adventure continues off camp as you build skills and knowledge at an REI workshop, participate in an outdoor service project on historic Kennesaw Mountian, take an "Amazing Race" through Atlanta's public transportaiton system, visit the Chattahoochee Nature Cwenter followed by a canoe trip down the Chattahoochee River.
The grand finale is an overnight canoe adventure on the Chestatee River. Our "city slicker" adventurers will paddle downstream, cook dinner over a campfire and pitch a tent for the night by the river. Each participant will discover the hidden wilderness in the big city.
