Discover yourself with the excitement of Indian life as you try Indian food, visit an outdoor market, go sari shopping and participate in a Take Action Project. Enjoy some leisure time exploring India.

Picture It

Discover yourself while you experience an international perspective in the global atmosphere of Sangam. Learn about the diversity and traditions of Indian life with 16 of your Girl Scout sisters.

You’ll explore Sangam World Center while experiencing the sights and sounds of India. Spend a week exploring Mumbai, New Delhi and more with a breathtaking visit to the Taj Mahal Hall! Immerse yourself with the traditions of Indian culture from food, dance, music, art, and fashion. An opportunity to take action will round out the visit to this diverse ancient civilization. The 20 day adventure takes off with 17 girls from all over the country, who are ready to make friends and make memories of a lifetime!

Pune, India
Sangam is located in Pune, India - four hours south of Mumbai (formerly Bombay). Visit Mumbai, New Delhi and surrounding areas.

Plan It

  • July 5–27, 2011; $3,750
    Must be 14–18 years old at the time of the event.

Get It

  • All participants must have a valid Passport and Visa
  • All participants must have a medical exam before traveling
  • Shots and vaccines as recommended by CDC
  • Although GSUSA does not require ownership of a uniform for membership, when participating in an event at Sangam, Girl Scout visitors are expected to wear official uniforms. Participants must wear a white top, khaki pants, your vest or sash and membership pins, and the Senior/Ambassador Bandana.

$ It

A $250 deposit will be due immediately upon acceptance to the event. This is part of the event fee, not in addition to it.

You will be responsible for round trip airfare to and from the departure city of Las Vegas, NV. Group will meet in Las Vegas on July 5th or 6th  and depart on July 7th for India. You will be responsible for the cost of obtaining a passport and visa prior to the event. All passports must be obtained by March 31. Portion of event fee has been subsidized by the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund. Fees includes program event fees, transportation, and meals. You will also be responsible for your own spending money, recommended shots and vaccines, the cost of obtaining a passport and Visa prior to the event.
